One of my favorite days every year is the morning I wake to see the Pinalenos first snow blanket of the season! The weekend storms left snow ..... and a lot of it :y:

Not only Graham, but also the Gilas, Black Hills & Whitlocks got their tops capped. The top peaks of the Grahams were still socked in with thick overcast and had yet to reveal themselves, but I didn't want to wait and headed up the Swift Trail (along with half of Safford) to play in the snow. I hit snow at 4000ft and barely made it to Noon Creek at 5300ft where I pulled over onto the shoulder and quickly spun tires and sank ](*,)

. Decided to deal with my stuck truck later and headed off & down the Noon Creek trail. Wasn't sure if the trail was gonna be doable and many times I thought I was an idiot for even trying this in 6-18' of fresh snow. It took me awhile, but I made it around this entire winter wonderland loop. The hike & scenery was just amazing, I'll be posting a photoset for this one.

Made it back to my truck where I then had to spend a half hour digging it out of the snow before driving my tired, wet & cold body back down the mountain and home. This is only a 2.5 mile loop, but add in a foot of snow and those kokopelli seeds triple :sweat:

Wonderful day spent on Graham, think I'll do it again today :GB:
