| no partners | | | Another GREAT trip into Havasupai. Hiked in Sat night-Sun morning. Nearly got trampled by a couple of loose horses that we startled coming around a corner. They blasted down the trail right through our group, everybody safely got out of the way. The dogs followed us all the way to camp. A few groups were leaving and we got a very nice spot next to the creek, away from the trail. We rested Sunday, then Monday went to Beaver Falls and the Green Room. Took a chance and wrapped my camera in two zip-loc bags and got it in and out safe and sound. A guided group from the Colorado River was there, too. Late Monday we went to Navajo Falls, very nice. Tuesday we went down Mooney and found some nude Europeans sunbathing at the rope swing... much to the suprise of the teenagers we had with us! They robed quickly and we left the area. Had lunch then headed again to Navajo Falls. More groups were coming in, a few with very small toddlers, kind of a suprise to me. Packed up and left the campground ~5:30PM, was a very nice hike out, topped out at 10PM. |
