| no partners | | Finally made it up to the cliff breaks west of Mushroom Rock. Some fun off-trail until I got up near the cliffs where its was steep, loose and then choked with brush! But at least I satisfied my curiosity about finding a way up through the breaks to the middle shelf.
The first break west of Mushroom looked like it might have potential but has about a 40 foot drop down to where I was. It was so thick with brush that I couldn't get around the last corner to inspect further so I had to turn back.
I contoured along the cliffs and dropped down and up through the high drainages to get close to the second break west of Mushroom. I didn't climb all the way up in but from my lunch spot got some good pix that show how steep and boulder filled it is. Can't imagine there is a non-technical way up. Time to move on!! |
