I left the trail just up past the wilderness sign where the trail turns toward the Gatekeeper. I went up the drainage, then climbed out and up to the "wall" and checked out the shelf there. Then went up higher on a wavy, white slick rock on the north side of the shelf. After that it got steep and loose but there were some game trails that made it doable. The rocks and cliffs are pretty cool up there! There may be a way up to 4102 taking this route but I wouldn't try that solo! Came back down on the ridge that is close to the main trail.
