Started this hike after 1pm this afternoon, took a bit to find the trail head parking lot from the directions posted in the jacobs trail description.

Overall nice hike, the terrain at the after you make your first turn to head towards the mountain was had a bunch of small rocks. It portrayed a wash more then a trail. Ran into 4 individuals riding there horses, after pleasantries they asked if I had water with me. That was a pleasant surprise that they seemed to be looking out for my welfare. After that I walked for awhile the trail narrowed in certain points, was a little bit concerned being in shorts that I would scrap against a cactus but this didn't occur. When I came up to the next turn I realized my hat that i had placed in my back pocket feel out. I double backed briefly then decided to continue on and I would just search for it on the way back.

I passed a trail runner and besides the runner and the couples on horseback it was just the birds, lizards, bee's and I on the trail. My initial purpose of the hike was to make a push all the way to the end and back down which would of been a little over 12 miles round trip. Realizing I didn't have enough time to make the complete round trip I settled for the intersection of Siphon Draw Trail. When I got to the intersection I took a 5 minute break, during which I had a conversation with a man coming down siphon draw trail who stated he ran up to the top then ran the ridge line for 5 miles then came back down, maybe one of these days when I get back in running shape i'll be able to do that.

I began the trip back which was uneventful, checking route scout numerous times just to confirm I am on the right trail. When I was getting back the the trail head I came across 2 females who appeared to be heading out for a night hike. Maybe when I get more comfortable in the superstitions I will try a night hike.

Unfortunately I didn't find my hate, as I came to the trail head I was hoping someone picked it up on the trail and placed it at the posts at the parking lot. No luck there, if your out on that trail and find a black Oakland Raiders hat please grab it for me, I have had that hat for 5 years and it has been through a lot with me. Took plenty of pics that I will post. Enjoy and happy hiking!
