| no partners | | When I woke up my clock said it was eight which surprised me so hopped out of bed. It turns out the clock adjusted for daylight savings time so it was really seven. Well if it didn't jump ahead, I would have gotten a later start so that's okay.
I made it out to the trail and got started a bit before eleven. I took the Ballantine trail out three miles to find a new geocache, Ballantine Letterbox. I was the first finder.
On the way out, I passed who I call, The Mysterious Hiker. He was wearing compression socks and had a ball cap holding on a white bandana. As I approached I said hello, he didn't say anything nor make any acknowledgement I existed until, he turned off the trail to let me pass. He was turned away from the trail so I never saw his face. As I went by a said, thanks. Again, no acknowledgement in any way. I went up the trail few steps and looked back. He was still turned away from the trail. Mysterious!
On the way back, I took the Pine Creek trail to make a loop of things. I passed two oncoming hikers thrice and a seventh oncoming hiker.
The temps were nice and there were some wildflowers out. The Brittlebush are just starting there which surprised me as they have been blooming for a long time around Phoenix. |
