| no partners | | most of you know i don't care for the cold
turned down a climbing opportunity, then postponed plans with tibber
a day off should be for something fun or different or challenging rather than the usual canal runs and workout hikes
when i decided not to be hostage to the nfl, i had quite a few options, even with a late start
saw recent triplogs from 9l and kyle on this hike
was up here several years ago, but did not know about the cabin and corral
got going around 11:00, so was comfortable in a long sleeve t-shirt
a good uphill right out of the gate, and it doesn't really let up until the four-way intersection
that's where i stopped the last time, which i just found was november 2007
today took a left and went to the cabin
spent a few minutes exploring inside and the corral area
an interesting destination for an out and back hike
returned via the lower route on pine creek loop
nice enough temps, although better when the sun was out
enjoyed the terrain; boulders and saguaros are a nice mix
some scree and ankle buster rocks on the trail, but nothing too unpleasant
further exploration past the four way might be fun next time |
