There was quite a bit of haze on this particular day, which cut down on visibility; however, the views were still pretty sweet. There was also quite a bit of trash on the trail from border crossing activity. The trash notwithstanding, this was a superb hike. We drove back on FR 61/48 to 83, which provided some spectacular views of the Huachucas from the south. We stopped at Copper Canyon to cool off in the water. We crossed water several times on 61/48, and a young buck crossed our path. I'd recommend a high clearance vehicle on 61/48 this time of year. |
