Bob and I hiked Miller Peak today, and intended to bag Carr Peak as well. Deep snow prevented us from passing the North ridge along the crest trail. We didn't have the proper footwear to make the 1+mile hike through the calf-deep wet snow. We turned around and made our way back past the Miller Peak sign and down the crest trail.

Just past the Miller Peak junction we came across two border patrol agents. We talked for a while, mostly answering their questions. They even wanted to see the tread on the bottom of our shoes...
