Enjoyed the golden granite glow as we headed up to the saddle, then on to bag East End. Windy up top but otherwise a very pleasant scramble.
Cruised over to Tom's Appendage where we split up, with Jason and Crzy going to check out The Overlook, and James and I headed for the Ogre's Den that is about 150 yards west. We arrived to find the Ogre in the middle of a taste comparison of Jameson's, Chivas Regal 12, Hamilton's Islay, Glenlivet 12, and Macallan 12 while enjoying his view. A fascinating story about Martin Luther and some nuns followed, capped by some Aussie Style Licorice and Glacier water.
Our group rejoined at Tom's Digit, then bopped over to the OTHER Ogre's Den that lies southeast of the saddle. I had never been to this one, and am curious how long it's been there. Very comfy.
Wonderful, cool weather. Hard blue skies. Fun company. |
