I really like this trail. The park views and angled view down 24th Street at the little summit are a nice change from Squaw. Then again I rarely stop at the summit on Squaw so maybe those are nice too.
Trail maintenance on this less used trail is encouraging as the years roll away. They really take care of it with the exception of one area near the saddle.
Didn't expect nor see anyone until finishing. On the final furlong I heard a vicious hum. Figured it was bees as the sand washes of L♥s L♥mitas were humming last week. Turned out to be a drone hovering over a saguaro. Looked like fun. A minute later a guy pulled up and started hiking with his remote control truck. Gasp, the grass is always greener... |
