Met my hiking buddy Tricia at the uppermost parking lot at Squaw Peak at 5:30 this morning for the most pleasant and spectacular hike in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. We started by heading south on the Circumference/Freedom trail. Cross over the road to the beginning of the Mohave "South" trail. Awesome switchbacks climb steadily from the nearby neighborhoods. Mohave treats the hiker over and over with more steep ascents and switchbacks. After the roller coaster ride of the Mohave trail we turned north on the Quartz Ridge trail to the Ruth Hamilton and back to the parking area. Great morning hike!!
