After driving here from my Peak 2546 hike, without taking so much as a glance at how much fluid I drank from the CamelBak I added maybe 12 oz and set off for the Tech Loop, which was close to the Jeep. I hadn't gone a half-mile before running out of fluid... wow, I didn't think I drank that much on the hike.

Whatever, I finished the Tech Loop with plenty of hike-a-bike in the gnarly spots along the way... after all, I'm a somewhat ailing 66 year-old geezer so whad'dya expect?
Back to the Jeep I found I had gone through all 100 oz in the CamelBak (along with 20 oz I drank before the hike and the 12 oz added before the Tech Loop) which meant the extra 64 oz (now only 42 oz) in the cooler wouldn't allow for much more biking.
](*,)
I usually have way too much extra in the cooler but this trip I was on the other extreme.
:-({|=
But... I had planned to map out the latest routes of both the Tech Loop and Jodi's Dream trails so now I'm heading off for the unknown with little fluid and by-now 105 temp come-hell-or-no-water (or high temps) I'll complete Jodi's Dream.

Not knowing exactly where Jodi's Dream began I set out on the Transition Trail to the point where I was biking last month when I encountered the sign 'To Jodi's Dream'. It just so happened where I connected to Jodi's Dream was more like Jodi's Nightmare, only to find at the 'end' 1.5 miles later I had been riding the opposite direction intended.

Ok, I'm at the start, but for a complete GPS track I need to go the other way to the point where I connected. I hadn't gone a hundred yards 'back' up from the 'end' before encountering the 'Blue Stairs' which had me hiking-the-bike going down, and of course the same on the return trip going the 'correct' direction.

Once I had completed the loop and rode back out to the end I just hit one of the old roads and cruised back to the Jeep. By now the humidity had dropped and with a 15 mph breeze so it felt like more like 75 degrees than the actual 105.

While I only hiked a few miles and biked just over 5 miles and a slug at barely 3.98 mph, posting this now a day after-the-fact I'm feeling better than I have since before our trip to Utah. So... as long as that keeps up, I'm back-in-the-saddle-again!
:y:
Now I'm not superstitious, but check out the AEG... must have been a devil-of-a-ride, huh?
:o
