| no partners | | Another out of state one for the history files. I have a ton of out of state hiking destinations and won't post all of them, only the more memorable ones. Utah is another spot I have spent a lot of time in, that would take a novelette to cover all the hikes.
The Winds and the Uintahs are my experience with the "high" country. I tend to be sensitive to altitude so had limited exposure in these areas.
However, if I acclimate two nights above 8k I seem to handle it fine.
My hiking partner and I agreed to no specifics on our route publicly; it oculd be viewed as selfish, and we met some hikers everyday. Yet the Winds are far from overrun with people, and just a few guidebooks are about all you will find written on them.
I spent everyday saying "OMG" and "this is just awesome" so much I am sure my cohort got tired of hearing it. It was a tough trip but oh so rewarding--- |
