What an incredible place. We lost about 1200 vertical in the first three quarter mile. Leveled out then the canyon stepped down in small falls and boulder fields. Water flowed and pools formed. We just tried to stay dry, as it was a little cool for immersion. We headed toward the Salt. The day faded away. We got a glimpse, then turned and ran away to home. We made the steep climb in full moon light, and walked the among the junipers to the waiting truck, surreal weaving through the low trees, in moonlight glow. Brian, as usual, walked right to the truck, without deviation. We were tired but elated with the great day.
Will never forget this one, and reviewing my pics remind me I need to revisit, and soon. |
