| no partners | | I spent a few days in Holden, MA visiting an old friend. After a few days of excess, I needed to get some exercise, so my friend recommended a section of the "rail trail" system that runs through the area. Once a 104-mile railroad line from Northampton to Boston, the corridor is being restored as a rail trail, a path for bicyclists, walkers, runners, etc. From what I've seen, they're doing an excellent job.
The segment I was on didn't last long, though, so I followed some spur trails and other foot paths, including one along a nearby river.
I hoped to see the famous fall colors, but it's still too warm. I wasn't complaining, though. With highs in the 60's and lows in the 40's, I was quite happy! |
