| partners | | On our final day in Kauai, Chumley and I headed over to Sleeping Giant for a quick hike. We arrived at the parking area around 8am and started the hike up. The trail is in great condition and makes numerous switchbacks as you gain elevation. We made good time and took a variety of pics. There are a few easy scrambles near the top and we topped out to enjoy the views.
Once up top we took a short break on the true summit. I followed a spur trail down a hundred feet or so to a nice viewpoint. Chumley and I then headed over to the north lookout. There is some mild exposure but not a big deal. We took a few pics and then dropped down a bit and followed a spur trail to a few windows that lead to epic views of Kapaa and the Pacific Ocean.
From there we started our descent and flew down. This was a really nice hike and was the perfect way to end our trip. We went back to our hotel and hung out till evening and then headed over to the airport where we caught a red eye back to Phoenix. |
