| no partners | | Seemed like a good day to go to New River Mesa. I've had good luck in the past just wandering the lower western slopes finding ancient ruins and the like. Today I thought I'd actually walk up to the mesa top and see what I could find.
The results were a little disappointing. On a nice flat bench below the mesa edge I did find a concentration of pottery pieces but that was really it for the day. I had preloaded one or two waypoints on the mesa top but somehow they didn't show up in my gps (I don't know why) so I just walked around. That's my preferred way of working anyway but this mesa is big! I just covered a small fraction and I didn't really see anything but rocks, grass and cacti.
Nevertheless it was a beautiful day to be out and get some exercise. The walking, while not great, could have been a lot worse-I was particularly glad that most of the bushes I bashed through were not sticky. |
