| no partners | | First stop was Round The Mountain to hike up Noon Creek a ways and check out a swimming hole I saw from above previously. I was pleased to find not one, but two waterfalls - each with a nice soaking pool at the bottom. Hung out with some friendly frogs and gathered up and removed some fishing line from the small pool - I can't get away from that stuff anywhere!
Next stop was Turkey Flat to walk through the neighborhoods and check out the cabins/summer homes. I have only ever seen the ones that line Swift Trail. I ended walking for three miles, and still didn't see quite all the cabins. My big fantasy is to buy one someday - it's only a half hour from home, yet it's a 20-degree-cooler, quiet, beautiful getaway. It looks, feels, and smells just like the South Rim up there. And since it's only at about 7500ft, it is accesible year-round. I found one cabin for sale, and immediately fell in love ... gonna call the guy for details later.  |
