Intended to hike the road/trail around to wherever it goes, but it is clearly still CLOSED, with barricades and tape and signs ... I respect those closures - unlike jerks who do whatever they want - so I walked the opposite way on the road to try and find the Spring.
I found a cairned path ducking through the trees ... this is not the right path. It starts out fine, but quickly deteriorates to a mess of downed trees.
Back to the road, continue on for maybe another couple hundred yards and found the real trail. It starts at the working spigot in the middle of nowhere, lol - one of the funniest things, turn it on and it spews cold, clear spring water!
There's a quick right turn that is easy to miss but after that the trail is well trod and marked with flagging. Nice hike to the spring ... bear scat, flowers, some trees to crawl over. Don't know what the spring area looked like before, but it is a mess of flood debris now - hard to believe it's still functional. |
