Left Phoenix at 5am and got to the trailhead at 6:30 with my regular crew. First time up North Wilson trail and it was fantastic, much different from coming up from the south side. Hiked out to the Sterling Pass side to take in the views and then stopped by the Sedona side on the way back. Coming back down from the bench was a bit of a challenge. It is steep and slippery. We all fell numerous times and didn't remember the trail being so steep on the way up. Oaks were showing tons of color! Barely any wind all day! Plenty of sunshine too.
