Nice chance to catch our breath as we walked across the first bench, then more uphill. Once up “top”, we first headed over to the south overlook. Spent a few minutes taking pics, then headed to the north overlook. The walk between the two is mostly flat and easy. Had a snack break at the north overlook, wandered around a few minutes, then made our way back south.
Turned off the trail and headed up to the summit. Easy offtrail. Found what seemed to be the highest point, took some more pics, then headed back to the main trail. Oddly enough, while the ascent felt rocky in places, the descent felt less rocky, and easier than anticipated. We passed several hikers on our way down, but the North Wilson portion of the trail only had two.
I don’t do much Sedona hiking because I don’t like the drive, or people, but this was a fun one. Always great to hike with Kelly & Bruce. |
