70 Degrees and sunny as I left the city on my way past beautiful farmhouses and maple trees bursting with color along the Clackamas River. By the time I reached the trailhead it was quite a bit cooler in the 50s and breezy, but not terribly cold. The trailhead feels very remote, tucked along a fairly overgrown forest road, despite only being an hour away.
Had the trail all to myself. Not the most interesting hike, but it does have a nice view of Mt. Hood, St. Helens, and Mt Jefferson from the summit. I had planned to watch the sunset from the top, but it was super windy and I could only last about 15-20 minutes before I turned around and headed back. |
