| no partners | | Late afternoon trip to take advantage of the colors in the area for the last time from a different vantage point with a quick side trip.
Not sure if this area of the Mazzies are always this tranquil but today was just as idyllic and peaceful as Sunday.
Complete overcast with no wind has been the weather in Rim Country this week and being outside feels like a dream.
Fresh tracks and a well groomed path indicate the ruins see a lot of visitors but also see a lot of respect which I appreciate and admire.
The views from up there are the best in the entire East Verde Valley I've seen and just like every ancient civilization I've visited, it gave me a feeling of amazement at the thought of those you once inhabited the stone walls.
I can't keep my eyes off of North Peak every time I drive out here and with a visible large peaking maple grove not far away from it would make for a great hike soon if that sparks anyone's interests... |
