I prefer the high route for its better views and more separation from the residential area. And it is certainly the most traveled, at least today it was. A fantastic evening to be on the trail with, if you raise your eyes above the housing, great views to the distant north, to Elephant Mountain, Daisy and the Bradshaws. And, as shadows appeared so did the colorful air balloons from their station just to the north. Counted six of them. Will there be a wildflowers season? Saw no indication of one today. Even the desert bloomers seem slow to come around. No flowers on the creosote although leaves glisten and only a few crimson blooms on ocotillo. This seems to me an under-valued urban hike, particularly if you trek to the isolated west side. And the trails are as clean as any I've run across in the Valley.
