| no partners | | | Rode the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and then did a couple of short loop hikes. We did the Round Valley Loop first which was about 4 miles. Then we did the Desert View Loop which is about a mile and a half. Some clouds today but still had decent views of the valley. Some snow on the Round Valley trail but we did fine with just hiking boots. Elevation at the top of the tram is about 8,500 feet so we took it slow seeing as how we live at sea level and haven't done much mountain hiking yet this year. Very dry so we took lots of water. The Desert View loop is the short loop that most people do so I'd recommend doing that first if you go up early in order to beat the crowds. We did it second and ran into lots of people. A lot less people on the Round Valley trail. |
