| no partners | | This was our second hike in the Sawtooth Wilderness. We stayed the night before at the Iron Creek Campground, which is a very short walk from the trailhead
For the second day in a row we were on the Stanley Lake Trail, but this time we were starting from the Iron Creek Trailhead. From the Stanley Lake Trail we turned left on Aspen way and continued to the turn off for the informal trail leading up to Goat Lake. The climb to the lake was a little steep and loose, but we did fine and so did the dog. Goat Falls were pretty impressive and the lake was very scenic. However, we had to share it with some backpackers and a group of day hikers. This is clearly a tough lake to find solitude on during peak hiking season. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed a nice long break at the lake. After relaxing for a bit at the lake, we headed back the way we came. |
