This trip served multiple purposes: training for an upcoming marathon AND my celebratory b-day hike. We saw very few people probably because of the rain yesterday and today. The people we did see had children and dogs and were happily enjoying themselves. It sprinkled on us off and on, was a chilly 53 degrees (F). Even cooler if any of your clothing got wet. The trail was soft and sticky with few puddles. I was trail running some portions and was not worried the least bit about slipping. This trail is a great one for beginner backpackers. Some folks have probably already tried this as I saw a handful of fire rings in flat, camp-ish areas.
Autumn Foliage ObservationModerate Cottonwoods are a light green and yellow, Sycamores still have a decent light, green canopy.
