Good enough for some fellow to pull his 5th wheel camper all the way to the gate before breaking down. I'd hate to be the one to have to get that trailer turned around in that tight space. The trail is well defined and easy to follow all the way up to the saddle west of Black Cross Butte. Continuing west from there, the trail fades in and out, mostly out, so having the GPS track is super helpful as navigating by landmarks through there is difficult (at least for me) and non-intuitive. It was really windy to start the hike, but once on top, the winds calmed down and the sun out to make for perfect partly cloudy day. Views down to the Salt River / Canyon Lake are spectacular! Lots of rose quartz along the top in the middle of the hike. Post hike treats at the marina were delicious. |
