| no partners | | Felt amazing to get out of the house and see sunshine and blue skies after being stuck in the heart of “Snowmageddon 2019” for the past couple of days.
Over a foot of snow down in the desert as we started our hike but luckily we had tracks broke by pig hunters driving on UTV’s otherwise the initial start would have been tough.
Once off trail is when the real work begin as that snow was just unbelievably deep but we used some cattle tracks for easier travel but soon ran out of them and it was all fresh powder thrashing from there on up.
Saw the UTV proceed further up FR 208 breaking more tracks for us so we continued on to a nice viewpoint that truly would have been nearly impossible without the help of snowbreak from a man made machine.
Absolutely surreal to see every single surrounding hill, mountain and canyon literally just covered in thick seamless snowpack.
Nice and warm all day with nothing but sunshine had me rocking a tank top and forgetting entirely about sunscreen and needless to say I think I have one of the worst sun/snow burns I’ve ever had, lesson learned the hard way as usual  |
