Took my girl friend and her son who enjoys geology and archeology out to Deadman Mesa for a little walk.
I knew it would be muddy but I felt bad because we all could have used a pair of snowshoes since the sticky muck added literal pounds to our feet.
Made it to the impressive feature I saw on satellite imagery which just ended up being a unique cliff band of volcanic rock that stood out from its surroundings.
Along the way and back we encountered the usual copious amounts of small sherds and worked stone in a couple high concentrations sites and plenty of randoms throughout.
Always fun to see close friends get joy from the natural wonders of this great state.
