| no partners | | I went back to the Chiricahua National Monument to finish up a couple of trails I didn't get to last week when I was here. The first hike was Sugarloaf Mountain. Not much of a hike, only 1.9 miles round trip with about 500 AEG. What it lacked as a hike was made up for by the views. Much better visibility this week since there was no wind. Could see 100 miles to the Catalina Mountains near Tucson. If it were winter just after a winter storm the details of the distant mountains would be better.
Easy hike and worth doing if you are in the area. Could be used as a warm-up hike if you do those or an after hike if you have an hour to kill. Early morning around sunrise or at sunset would just add frosting on the cake or should I say sugarloaf. I wanted to get here earlier than 0800 but had a brain fart just outside of Wilcox and took a wrong turn and ended up going out of my way for about a half hour. The Load popping sound in the Valley south of Wilcox was me pulling my head out of my rear. Alls well that ends well though. |
