| no partners | | Mrs. SloFolks and I haven't been out in a while so we promised ourselves we were hiking somewhere this morning no matter what. We ended up doing a short hike close to home starting at the P.A. Seitts Trailhead using the Slate and Flume Trails in a counter clockwise loop. Route shown on photoset page. This section of the creek was dry for the first time since last October. Nice while it lasted!
We had our first taste of some monsoon rain last night and as a result it was quite humid (57%), and 85 degrees at our 5am start. TWC promised a 7 mph breeze but it didn't come until near the end. Pretty sure I sweated out some Twinkies I ate in 1979. We only got in about 4 miles but that was plenty in the sauna. Saw two different trail runners with dogs...one friendly and one not, referring to the dogs. :-) We definitely need to take our new HAZ ride up north and find some cooler temps. |
