A busy schedule has precluded us from hiking much lately but this morning we at least made something happen. A friend came up from Phoenix to get some final leg stretching in for his go at the Camino de Santiago. He leaves soon for Spain to hike 200 of the 500 mile journey. I asked why he wasn't doing all 500 miles, (he's only 59), and he just looked at me like I had two heads.

Since Spur Cross is in our back yard we did a quick loop hike and short walkabout there. He had not been up here before and it was beautiful for us. The rain we had last night not only kept the dust and heat away but the humidity was so high there were low clouds everywhere at the start of the hike which made for some nice vistas. I was gladly surprised at the amount of wildflowers still thriving up here. Pretty much gone in most other places.
