There are a ton of tiny little pines poking up along the Mint Spring and especially upper Aspen Trails. The temps were just perfect on this hike, and as always if you leave early you avoid the crowds a bit. We saw nobody on Marshall Gulch on the way out. The climb up to Radio Ridge is nice and tough. Storms came in fast, at one point it was raining so hard over the Wilderness of Rocks that we heard it well before we saw it...sounded like a train. Very cool.
Beat the rain by a clean 5 minutes..
Great, great day up in the mountains. |
