| partners | | Superfun hike into the remote Patagonia mountains near the Mexican border with my dad, Jeff MacE and his sister. First time into this range was a charm as we bushwhacked up a nameless peak to pick up an unmarked (but not unused) route leading out to Veteran's Peak, just 10 feet shy of the range highpoint (Mt. Washington).
This part of the range offers spectacular views into Mexico as well as the southern face of Mt. Wrightson and the Santa Ritas. Lot of other cool stuff out here, cool drive in too.
Definitely evidence of border crossing here. We got buzzed by a border patrol chopper halfway in. Our truck was still there when we got back, so that was cool too.  |
