1st trip
Nice trail for late May. The top of Mount Lemmon is great for just stringing a bunch of trails together to create a loop. This hike started at Marshall Gulch and heads up to Marshall Saddle, from here you have many choices; Mint Spring Trail, Aspen Trail, up or down or Wilderness of Rocks Trail. We chose the Aspen Trail up to the top of Mount Lemmon to Lemmon Lookout. Checked out the views from the lookout and decided to head down the Lemmon Rock Trail to the Wilderness of Rocks Trail. The Lemmon Rock trail is fairly steep, steeper than the Aspen going up but didn't matter we were going down. Great view over the Wilderness of Rocks area and Lemmon Creek. Once down on the Wilderness of Rocks Trail we followed it back to Marshall Saddle. This walk along Lemmon Creek is really nice and has just a gradual up hill slope until you get close to Marshall Saddle then it gets a little steeper but not bad. At Marshall saddle we took the Aspen trail back to Marshall Gulch. This is a good hike to do in August September during the monsoons, just pick a day when the monsoons aren't active.
