| partners | | Kelly and split AZT segment 30 Anderson Mesa by starting at Horse Lake trail head. First day we hiked north to Marshall Lake at the end of the segment, then south to near Railroad Tank where we camped for the night.
The next morning we hiked south to the other end of the segment near Mayflower Spring. The trail is much smoother through here than the northern part.
We checked out some of the lakes and tanks along the way. Some interesting sights to see, like the old railroad bed, as well.
Temps were relatively cool for late June, but it was windy.
We drove back on the beeline, witnessing the fire damage from the Bush fire. Some of it is pretty intense. Some of it looks like it will bounce back in a couple years.
Another fun AZT hike. Thanks Kelly. |
