Needing a not too difficult hike with some photo opportunities I decided to try the trails at Goldwater Lake. Saw a beautiful sunrise on the way up and arrived a little after 6:30. Found the trail that set off to the left going around the south end of the lake. Easy to follow with a little bit of up and down to make it interesting. Was thrilled to come upon a Great Blue Heron standing on some rocks right by the shore plus there was a bench right there that enabled me to sit and watch it for a while. Back on the trail which I expected to end short of the dam but it kept going, I made the dam my turn around point. I made my return enjoying the shade when present. Taking my time, resting on a bench here and there I got back to my car around 9:30. this was a fun little jaunt that I recommend to any one.
