| partners | | I have been a little under the weather for the last week and the lack of hiking hasn't helped so Ginny and I got out for another short hike in Saguaro National Park just before sunset. The Wild Horse Trail or Wild Horse Canyon Trail is one of my favorite hikes in the park that doesn't involve climbing up the front range of the Rincon Mountains but also doesn't stay on the flatlands of the park. Kind of like the three bears, not top steep not too flat but just right.
The tanks at the end of the trail are quite impressive but on this trip the Tanks had water in the pools but it was pretty stagnant, enough for the local wildlife. There was an impressive saguaro at the tanks. I'm not going to say it was the largest I've seen but it could possibly have the most arms I've ever seen, between 20 and 30. The sunset on the return trip finished off the hike. This is a good hike to take visitors that are from out of state to show them a taste of Arizona. |
