| no partners | | Went to check out the new AZT25 re-route section, out-and-back from the Pine trailhead. The new trail is EXCELLECT - ugly, boring, super-rocky has been replaced with scenic, interesting, much-less-rocky. Standing O to all those who made this massive project happen . The AZT website says the re-route is 6.7 miles but my GPS has it about 7.9 miles.
Water: The trail crossing at Rock Creek was dry but immediately upstream trickles and small pools appear, and about 100 yards upstream of the crossing is a deep, clear pool in a beautiful shaded oasis, with additional pools further upstream. I would guess that after a normal wet winter there would be flowing water here in the spring. Reliable Oak Spring also had clear water. |
