| no partners | | | The forecast for today was mostly sunny and windy. Today the forecast was spot-on. Beautiful sunny skies but it was very windy, especially at Panorama Point. Would have liked to have our lunch there but it was so windy we opted to go back down where the wind wasn't quite so blustery. Found a good spot near some trees that acted as a wind break and had a gorgeous in-your-face view of the mountain. We started counter-clockwise from the parking toward Myrtle Falls along the Edith Creek Basin route. From there a steep climb up to Panorama Point. Back down along the Alta Vista route to the parking lot. GPS clocked it a little under 3.5 miles and just under 2,000 ft elevation gain. It felt like more but maybe I'm just out of shape! Fewer people out today given it was Friday so while we saw a fair amount of people, it never felt too crowded today. |
