This was a repeat of my hike around the lake the previous day but this time in the counter-clockwise direction and with my son-in-law, Lloyd. It was such a nice hike that I didn't mind doing it over again. We started and ended the hike at our campsite in the Aspen CG and stopped along the way briefly a couple times to check in with my daughter and their 3 kids who were having a great time with their home school group that day at the Spillway Dam Day-Use Area. My grandson was out on the lake playing bumper boats with two inflatable kayaks all occupied by boys in the group. We encountered my two granddaughters with several of their friends about halfway around the lake. They had started the hike from the day-use area shortly before Lloyd and I passed through but going in the clockwise direction.
