Have passed this TH many times on way to fish Big Lake. On the day before we hiked I pulled into the parking lot at 10:15 AM and it was full, stopped just to talk to folks and get a clearer understanding of length and elevation gain. It’s 9345 feet at the TH. I look for hikes at 8000 or less but they are hard to find in this area.

Judy and I took it slow and stopped to chat with 2 fly fishermen and a single and a couple. Made a few new friends as Judy stood there and roiled her eyes. Went out 2.5 miles and returned the same way. Loved this hike that follows a stream and AEG is very gradual. At 9000 feet that’s what I need. Weather could not have been better…64*, partly cloudy with light breeze.

We were the 4th car in the lot at 8:45AM and there were 8 when we returned.
