| no partners | | I realized if pushed I could get 200 plus hours of volunteer work in by the end of the year at the Scottsdale McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, so headed out to the Pima/Dynamite TH. Took an easy loop: Latigo, Sidewinder, Rock Tank, Axle Grease. Wearing my Conservancy shirt/badge so stopped to talk and greet others on the trail.
At the .9 mile marker you come up on a gated (for protection) nice crested saguaro. About 3/4 of the gated area is on trail so you can get the sun in the right place and the powerlines out of the photo view. At about a mile and right on the trail it's very easy to get to if you want to show a non hiker what a crested saguaro looks like.
Even though it was a Saturday not many folks out on the trail, surprised me. I had an 8:30 AM start time. |
