| no partners | | | Rented a 16-foot fishing boat with a 40hp motor at Deerfoot Lodge on the Chippewa Flowage for 4 hours. Explored the flowage, including stopping at 8 of the little islands, walking around, and taking a couple swims. It was overcast when we started, followed by a heavy downpour for 20-30 minutes (we took shelter under an overhang on one of the islands), then intermittent light to moderate rains. Eventually the skies cleared and the sun quickly warmed us up. We saw numerous ducks and loons. There was surprisingly only one other boat the entire trip. Overall a fun little trip, and we saw a lot more of the flowage than we had planned. |
