| no partners | | My friend Ted is planning to move to Prescott soon, so I decided to plan a hike nearby with him since we rarely get a chance to hike together anymore. When I first moved to AZ, he was one of my first hiking buddies, so I wanted to take the time to do a local hike at this time of year while the weather is really nice.
I decided to hike in the northern part of the MSP from the Brown's Ranch TH. Pretty easy trails, nice scenery, and Ted hasn't hike there before. We took the Brown's Ranch Road Trail to the Corral Trail, Dry Gulch, Cholla Mtn Loop, Balanced Rock, Watershed, Whiskey Bottle and then Latigo Trails, making a big loop. Along the way we stopped at part of Brown's Ranch and then Cathedral Rock and checked out the views and the grinding holes there.
Weather was chilly for the first 15 minutes, then perfect the rest of the day. Light clouds kept the temperature comfortable. We made very good time since the trails were flat and smooth. Saw mostly bikers, but a few trail runners and hikers as well. |
