| no partners | | Walking out the back gate of the RV park, I made my way northwest along a "use" trail to a water catchment unit. A couple of hikers came along and stopped to chat with me. Much younger (and fitter) they planned on 10 miles, whereas I was hoping for 4. They were also full-time RVers (van dwellers, actually), so we had things in common. When we made our goodbyes I decided not to tag along, but retraced my steps a bit, and wandered south. I had a great many choices of use trails, but my goal was to work my way to the Christmas Tree Trail, and the Elden Lookout Trail. I hadn't yet decided which way I'd go to get home.
But when I reached the Elden trail, I was feeling very achy and stiff in both hips, so I took the shortest way home, which was along the Hwy 89 FUTS (Flagstaff Urban Trail.) I didn't link it here, because that section hasn't been posted to HAZ. I could link Fatman's and Elden Lookout trails to this, but I'm not going to. |
