| partners | | We ended up with quite a crew for this one, although since I'm so slow I was way behind for the entire hike. South Fork was nice for all the little waterfalls, but a pain in the section where the trail disappears. The bushwhacking wasn't too bad, but it does slow you down making it up the ravine. Climbing over and around fallen trees (whenever I didn't trip on them) was a pain after almost 2 hours of that. Gold Ridge was much easier being downhill and easy to follow. The vistas were also much nicer. My GPS died on me for this hike going down Gold Ridge. Thankfully, the trail was very easy and obvious. I also had my walkie-talkie to communicate with the group ahead in case I got lost. This came in very handy at the camp site where the Gold Ridge Trail starts in a not very obvious place. I also left a walkie-talkie on my bumper and forgot it, so if anyone happens to be at the Deer Creek TH and find a blue Motorola, please let me know. Wasn't a good day for electrical appliances for me. |
