It was a wintry — by Phoenix standards — 51° when I started my traditional Christmas Eve day hike up Shaw Butte. The Christmas Palo Verde was a bit barren again this year. Seems like things changed around 2020.

I should bring some ornaments next year. Anyway, it was good to see an old friend and get in some sorely needed elevation gain.
